Favorite Part About Being a Doctor
“I love the challenge of making the diagnosis and applying that knowledge to improve the outcomes for my patients.”
For Dr. Kevin Keller, being a family medicine doctor in Midlothian, VA, means staying focused. “Listening to the patient is extremely important because the patient is giving you the information you need to make the diagnosis.”
“Empathy is also very important,” he says. “We have an opportunity to help people change their lives for the better, and it’s important they know that I am here for them.”
Dr. Keller always wanted to be a doctor. “I was one of those weirdos who knew when I was 5 or 6 years old,” he said. “I just always wanted to be a family doctor, and my wish came true.”
With more than 30 years of experience, he helps patients ages six and up with a variety of issues. From improving their pillars of health through diet, nutrition, and exercise, to treating skin conditions and other issues. As a family doctor, he enjoys the chance he gets to take care of whole families throughout their lives.
“What could be better than someone entrusting their life, or their families’ lives, with you,” he says. “It’s incredibly rewarding.”
“The thing about concierge medicine is that it affords me the time necessary to really get to know my patients, not only from a medical perspective but also on a more personal level,” Dr. Keller says. “It also allows me to provide the kind of preventive care that helps my patients to live a healthier and more fulfilling life.”
他是阿n establishing a relationship with all his patients so that they are more comfortable sharing their concerns. Therefore, they can work together toward improving the patient’s health and well-being.
“Being comfortable is so important,” he says. “Patients don’t make an appointment with me to talk about football. They see me because they have problems to address and I want them to be comfortable talking to me about them. It is essential that they are able to trust that I’m providing the proper care.”
As you can tell from some of the photos on this page, Dr. Keller loves fishing. Like, REALLY loves to fish! “The best fishing trip I’ve ever been on was on the Amazon River,” he says. “We fished in an area that probably no one had ever been before, and caught over 2,400 fish in a week!”
He has lived in Midlothian with his wife since 1985. Besides fishing, he loves traveling, horseback riding, and photography. A New York native, he is a New York Yankees fan. Dr. Keller is also passionate about music, and he loves playing the harmonica.
